Helping American Express to attract a calibre of customers that generate a greater lifetime value

American Express wanted to acquire new customers that were more likely to pass initial credit checks and convert them into longstanding customers. The achievement of this, American Express knew, would ultimately achieve a far greater ROI and build long-term revenues for the business.

Together, we created a targeted campaign in affiliation with an executive airline where its members received a highly personalised Direct Mail piece from the airline, promoting our client’s personalised offers. A personalised URL was served up enabling prospects to visit a website and instantly complete an application online. The campaign also integrated a timely email follow up to all non-responders and incomplete applications.

The campaign saw a 200% uplift in response versus the generic control pack. Those who received the highly personalised pack were almost twice as likely to convert too, and the additional follow up emails generated a 20% uplift in applications.
